Electrical Engineering department is one of the oldest departments of the institute. The Department has sixteen faculty members. Department is running one undergraduate course, two full-time post graduate courses (Power System, Power Electronics & Electric Drives). The Department has highly qualified faculty members with Ph.D. and M.Tech from prestigious institutions like IITs, NITs and other institutes of repute. Deptt. Deptt. is also running Ph.D. Programme and has 23 part-time Ph.D. students and 05 full-time Ph.D. students; Till now the department has eight faculty members who have obtained Ph.D. degree; another three faculty members have joined Ph.D. programme in different IITs under QIP and at RTU. Electrical Engineering Department has contributed significantly towards the growth of the Rajasthan Technical University
